Intelligent Solutions to Communications
Problems is Spiegel Editorial & Graphics guiding
principle for developing corporate communications materials.
From concept through delivery, we work hard to ensure
that the editorial and graphical content truly fulfill the communications
objectives. No puffy art-for-arts-sake, no extraneous copy.
Just strategically targeted elements that bulls-eye that key
intersection of communications objectives and audience interests.

When working with Spiegel E&G, its not deja
vu all over again for the client. Rather than explain objectives
and strategies to the writers and again to the designers, our clients
have the advantage of communicating their needs just once.
Then, its our job to lead the discussion
on developing communications objectives, refining the messages, and
formulating an integrated approach. Were not telepathic, but
were remarkably good at understanding our clients business
problems and making that critical leap to creative approaches that
succeed.
Through this integrated approach, we
save clients bundles of time, money, and frustration. Were most
interested in quality products produced within budget and on schedule,
so we carefully manage the process so that we avoid endless iterations
and costly last-minute changes.
And, were even bold enough to suggest
to clients that the project they have in mind might not be the best
use of their resources. For example, a small business that thinks
it needs a brochure might really need a great presentation or sales
kit instead.

Intelligent Solutions to Communications
Problems means that we dont deliver off the
shelf solutions. In fact, well even build a new shelf if need
be. In a clients unique position in the marketplace and
in the context of unique business objectives delivering an
off-the-shelf product makes as much sense as an off-the-rack suit
for an NFL tackle.
Instead, we listen. We ask questions.
And we develop tailored communications solutions that fit.

Does this mean our services cost an
arm and a leg? Emphatically, no.
Spiegel Editorial & Graphics is more
interested in providing smart value and developing long-term client
relationships than in conducting transactions of dubious quality.
So, our custom approach extends to pricing as well: rather than relying
on a number from a price list, we take the time to develop itemized
project quotes that fully address the simplicity or complexity of
a project and give clients line-item review of project components.
This unbundling strategy ensures that
clients know what theyre paying for and provides greater budgetary
control. We think this is good business practice and our clients
agree.

Joanne E. Spiegel founded Spiegel Editorial & Graphics
in 1992 on the foundation of two decades of experience in creating
publication content and design.
While the companys initial emphasis
was on print products, Joanne has expanded the scope as technological
advances enabled digital products, including screen-based presentations,
Acrobat documents, and web site creation.
Before forming her own company, Joanne
worked as a communications consultant to Fortune 100 companies, in
public relations, and in daily newspaper reporting and editing. She
holds both bachelors and masters degrees in journalism
from Northwestern University and an MBA (marketing) from Washington
University in St. Louis, MO.
Joanne relocated Spiegel E&G to St.
Louis from Stamford, CT in mid-1997 to enjoy proximity to family and
a lower cost of living. Her favorite leisure-time activity is
getting elbow-deep in clay while making pottery, a perfect counterpoint
to things high-tech.
